Fresh Fruit And Yoghurt Muesli

Our recent road trip to Goa, landed us at a very nice hotel called Casablanca, near the Morjim beach.¬†Casablanca is run by a Russian couple and offers lovely rooms, a quick walk to the nearby beach and plenty of interesting and unfamiliar food options. While we loved everything we ate here, one of our favourite discoveries was this simple and surprisingly yummy breakfast dish. (We later figured that this is available at any of the beachside restaurants in Goa) The Casablanca one is special though, in that the curds are not beaten at all. Typically I have had a manic abhorrence of unbeaten curds but in this muesli, the unbeaten curds results in a cheesy creamy layer since it allows the muesli to absorb the whey better. This is one dish that I can almost eat everyday…and that’s despite the fact that it is healthy too!

Fruit and Yoghurt Muesli

Serves: 2

  • Mixed chopped fruit - 1 cup ( you can mix up any fruit you like - grapes, melons, papaya, bananas, apples, strawberries, mangoes.. I just go with whatever I have at home)
  • Thick Yoghurt - ¾ cup
  • Muesli - ½ cup
  • Honey - 2 tsp
  1. Mix up the fruits in a bowl to get a lovely colourful chunky mix (nice to see something pretty early in the morning)
  2. Spoon thick yoghurt over the top of the fruits (If you wish, you can beat up the curds before you spoon it over. I like the slightly cheesy texture that unbeaten curds develops as the whey gets absorbed by the muesli)
  3. Drizzle honey evenly over the bowl
  4. Sprinkle with muesli.
  5. Voila!
